Disregard my previous review...
I'd have preferred to edit my previous post but it appears that I am now unable to do so...

Anyhow, the owner of crazystu.com.au went above and beyond my expectations in resolving my problems.

They have supplied a replacement Akai TV that exceeds the specifications which were incorrectly listed on their website for the TV that I originally purchased. In addition they have supplied me with 4 x AA rechargable batteries and a partial refund – the latter was a generous and unexpected gesture.

The owner seems a complete gentleman with a genuine interest in customer satisfaction and I suspect he has reinforced this in his staff following the issues I have previously outlined.

BTW, I thoroughly recommend the Akai TV: http://crazystu.com.au/akai-22-l8-series-lcd-tv-with-hd-tuner-dvd-p-1162.html

Pros: Focus on customer satisfaction
Wide selection
Australian
Cons: Seem to have had some difficulties with staff

I won't use them again
I purchased a 22" Conia LCD TV with DVD and HD tuner (CLCD2265DHD) direct from them (crazystu.com.au) a few weeks ago. It was delivered without any of the accessories – power supply, cords, remote control, manual. In addition, the TV was quite different to the one pictured on their website. I immediately sent a polite email about these issues and even mentioned that I actually preferred the the look of the unit I got to the one pictured on their website. A day or so later I'd had no response and so called their 1800 number but it was not answered. I tried and again later and still no answer.

I then sent an email advising that if they did not respond that day then I'd ask my bank to do a chargeback on the credit card payment and that they could then pic-up the TV. I received an immediate phone call and apology. He said that the incorrect picture on their website was the fault of an employee that e'd just sacked. About a week later I received the missing accessories (along with 4x regarchable batteries, presumably to say sorry).

Once I was actually able to use the TV I progressively discovered further problems...

- The website stated that the TV had a USB 2.0 port for playing media files etc. It turns out that it is a USB style port but is only for use by service personel. This feature was one of the main reasons I purchased this TV. It seems that it wasn't just the picture that was wrong on their website, it was the specifications too. They have since changed the website but I saved a copy of the original at time of purchase. NB: The TV I received has the same model number as was originally listed on their website.
- The TV has very bad "bleed through" of the backlight around the edges. dark scences look awful as a result.
- The picture is slightly stretched vertically and there does not seem to be any way to adjust it.
- The contrast is terrible.
- The channel editor does loses most changes after the TV is left on stand by for a long period.

I have other LCDs and I am familiar with what is normal and what isn't. I can live wwith the contrast but not the other issues. I politely informed crazystu.com.au of most of these concerns by email 6 days ago and I have not received a response.

I don't think I can do a credit card chargeback for this and so will have to explore other avenues such as consumer affairs.

In my opinion this particular Conia TV should be avoided as should crazystu.com.au

Pros: Good range, reasonable prices
Cons: Inaccurate advertising, no quality controls/checking of orders, appalling after sales service.
